I'm not yet in a position to apply for Air Canada, but their recent recruitment got me thinking. I'm currently operating for a foreign flag carrier, with 757/767 and 737 type ratings, and currently working on a 330 type rating. Does Air Canada ever recruit directly onto these aircraft or do you always start on the regionals? Not that I'm specifically wanting to step out of turn and jump everyone more senior. I was just wondering how recruitment works in terms of fleet placement (ie. wherever they need you, or always on the regionals)?

Cheers for any responses,

TB

You go on the type they need you on, the regionals are not the route you will go, its direct into Air Canada or into Jazz or the others, yes folks do often move from the conectors to AC but its not any different than moving to another company. By the way, many chose to stay in the conectors for life style and avoiding Jet Lag and dealing with Heathrow security!l

After dealing with British Security for years, I know just how true your statement is!
