guys , what is the main purpose of the diffuser ?

I assume you are asking about the diffuser in a jet engine, in which case the main purpose is to decrease the speed of the air coming from the compressor to a level that allows combustion to occur.

A diffuser (divergent duct) section converts the velocity energy to pressure energy. You will find the application also in jet engine inlets and superchargers.
