Are the items in here really true?

Secrets pilots won't tell you - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/10/21/pilot.secrets/index.html?hpt=T2)

Some items they list are substandard accommodations when on the road, pressure to tanker less fuel, etc.

Your thread will probably get moved. CNN, NBC, CBS, FOX – name your outlet are in the business of gaining market share for their product. There is a constant pressure to come up with stories that will attract viewers

PPRuNe is a far more detailed and accurate source for your aviation information. Spend just a little time reading the posts here and you will see that every one of the elements brought up in the video has been covered. It’s all OLD NEWS; nothing in this CNN presentation has any surprise.

Not exactly any secrets in there. 2 minutes googling would reveal most of the gripes. And no, a great landing is not the sign of a good pilot.

I have been reading the forums for four years on a regular basis, and I understand that news organizations are looking for stories. Agreed that some of this is well-known, but I always find it interesting to see what non-industry observers see.

being a REAL airline pilot, I am too cheap to either buy Reader's Digest or have a new enough computer to read all of the ''secrets''.

so, I hope someone will post them here when all 50 are available.

“Cabin air is not as dirty as people think. A portion of the air is recirculated because that helps to reduce humidity. But it’s run through hospital-quality HEPA filters, and it’s actually cleaner than the air found in most public buildings.” -Patrick Smith, commercial pilot and author, askthepilot.comCNN on air quality:
