I would like to know about your SOP for reading :

-after take off & climb check list (are togheter ?)
-approach check list.

Consider operations in Europe with complicated SID and variable transition altitude.

thanks

Climb checks when passing TA, or when convenient if cruise is below TA.
Approach checklist when QNH set but not later than TL.

We have no After TO checklist, nor a Climb one.
Approach checklist is coupled to securing the cabin, for what it's worth, could be anywhere from top of descent to FL100.

On a different fleet we used to have an Approach checklist that was actioned after setting QNH. The only item on the list: QNH...set and X-checked :E

When the the flaps are retracted in the climb, the two item (silent) "After Take-off" checklist is performed. Once cleared to an altitude with the approach set up completed and aids identified, the two item "Approach" checklist is performed. Once configured for landing we perform the three item "Landing" checklist so that will be done between 2,000' and 600'. On modern aircraft there is no need for the numerous, pointless, verbose checklists that some operators insist upon.
