Not as near as E Winch, but RAF Marham are fairly receptive to visiting GA, not cheap though.

Tilney St Lawrence. Any further clues?

There are also airstrips at Southery and also Denver near to Downham Market both of which are about ten miles south of King's Lynn. Is the airstrip at Sutton Bridge still in use?

Hi, Croquet

Aylmer farm is about a mile ENE of Tilney St Lawrence village, about 400m long and aligned 18/36. It's marked on the the local OS 1:25000 map, Grid Ref 564145.

I found the locals friendly when I landed a glider there, but I would guess that they'd appreciate a phone call if you're planning to lob in with a spamcan. J Goodley & Sons own the business, tel 01945 880209

Cheers

Peg

if you want to go into Kings Lynnn then East Winch is your option. The others may only be a "few" miles away but the approach roads into KL can double your "flight" time getting there!! Why you would want to go to Kings Lynn is a different question:bored:

XK8, your user name suggests that you might be interested in the classic car auction there!

I landed at Tilney St Lawrence some years ago. I remember the grass being rather long, so anyone intending to take a spamcam in should definitely ring first to enquire about the status. It's just a strip in the middle of nowhere, beside a small road, with no facilities - or at least that's how it was....

The Denver strip is good. PM me if you want me to put you in touch with the owner.
