Aircraft rental in Bahamas?

I'm planning a visit to Nassau next month, if possible would like to take a C172 for a Sunday drive. Anybody know about the availability of rentals? Is my Canadian PPL good enough or do I need to get a local licence?

Was a beach bum for a while in Nassau while the old man was working there..

Done a bit of flying from NAS - can't remember where we borrowed the A/c from but there is a number of light A/c operators on the airfield.

Would have thought you'd be ok on a Canadian PPL but not sure - I flew on a Uk PPL but at the time the Uk CAA were the Aviation Authority for the islands.

A few recommendations:

Chub Cay- Berry Islands
Spanish Wells- Eleuthera, this involves an expensive taxi boat but it's worth it to see the town!
Alice Town- Bimini
Great Harbour Cay- Berry Islands
Cockburn Town- San Salvador - just to say you've been!!
