Does anyone know anything about East Fortune Airfield? It would be ideal for a trip I'm planning, but I think it might be closed. On the other hand, I heard that an airshow was held there recently.

East Fortune is closed as an active airfield however they do open it occasionally for events such as the upcomming PFA fly in.

They did recently have an airshow but on the day I was there (Sat) nothing actually landed or took off from East Fortune, all traffic flew in from elsewhere.

They do however have an aviation museam on the sight which is an interesting place to visit.

It is open 1400hrs 10 Aug to 1800hrs 11 Aug for the East of Scotland PFA Strut and National Museums of Scotland Joint Fly In.

If you want to go email me for the details - I'm not involved, just have the piece of paper in front of me...

There's also a microlight strip at East Fortune which is about 2000' long - 1000' of concrete and 1000' of grass (with a smooth join between). PPR.
