Just heard tonight, there was an air-to-air between two aircraft, near Bembridge.

2 killed sadly, one aircraft recovered to Bembridge.

Gravity is being very demanding this week . . . all very sad.

Sadly we heard the news at Elstree early this evening, shocked at losing two of ours.
It always hurts more when it's someone you know, it brings it closer to home.
Our thoughts are with those they have left behind.
RIP

I flew in to Bembridge yesterday for a visit, landing just before the practice session and left just after it finished.

I was shocked to read this morning of the incident and was talking to one of the organisers yesterday asking about air racing in general. She told me that safety was paramount, especially as there had been an earlier fatality at Minorca.

I don't know how relevant it is but the visibility was not good yesterday.

This is very sad - although I did not personally know those involved, my plane is parked a few yards from this Mooney's parking space.
