I finally managed to get my first solo done this morning. I was up for 10 minutes but it went soo quickly! It is such an amazing feeling when you taxi back to the apron!

Simon

Well done! Your first P1 in the log book.

It all starts getting much more fun from now on. And the weather's getting better too!

Congratulations!

Just a question, how many lessons did it take in the circuit area before you were ready for your first one?? Anyone know what the average is??

Thanks all.

I had 2 full 1 hour sessions in the circuit. Then I had another 30 minutes of a 1 hour lesson but had to come down because of the weather. Then the next lesson I had I did 2 circuits dual and then along came crunch time, I did one on my own! So all in all I guess you could say I spent about 2.5 hours on circuits before solo. I don't know if this is average, above or below. Booked in for 1 hour of solo circuits this Monday. I cannot wait!

Hope this helps,

Simon

Very well done!!

How nervous were you, or were you so well prepared it came naturally?

Well, I was quite nervous when the instructor got out of the plane. As soon as I started the takeoff roll though I seemed to forget about the nerves. Everything seemed to come pretty much automatically. Also did one of my best landings to date so all in all, a good circuit.

Congratulations !!! Well done!!!

It all seems to go much better without someone watching your every move sat next to you, doesn't it. I also seem to remember that the C152 I learnt on seemed to go like a rocket without all that excess weight !!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
Know exactly how u felt did mine last october on my 16th birthday even an American airline congratulated me, apparently had huge grin on my face as I taxied back to the school.
An experience I'll never forget but believe me the 2nd solo is no where as good.
Good luck with all the other PPL exams.
