They handle and perform great(apparently) but the computer controlled engines have a mind of their own. Basically - good when serviceable, but not very robust.

NLM13,. .. .The C441 is one of my favorite aircraft I have ever flown, a real pocket rocket, a sports car.. .. .Goes forever, they are most suited to flying east west directions, not that great at long north south flights.. .. .Never had any problems with the engines.. .. .Don’t know of any C441s in your part of the world, sure it was not a C425 (Conquest I) with the PT6 engines ?. .. .Did you catch the registration ?. .. .Z

Zeke,. .Check out the recent FAA AD from Honeywell regarding uncommanded torque surges. We have experienced torque fluctuations and surges on several occasions caused by resonance in the oil system upsetting the prop governor or poor electrical connections.

Zeke,. .FAA AD 2001-21-02 covers the problem, available on the FAA website. There is also a Honeywell bulletin but I don't know the number - try their website. Basically it suggests swithing off the fuel computers for approach, landing and taxi and operating in manual mode. Regards.

Brick Top,. .. .Thanks for that, the ad states that </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica"> Nine events of uncommanded power increases have occurred, in varying degrees of severity, within the past 17 years.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">No wonder I never heard of this before. The 777 would have had that many in a year !. .. .Z
