Does anyone know where and how to apply for the authorisarion GA flying in/through Chinese airspace? It would be for a trip from SE Asia to Macau or HK, via Laos,Vietnam and eventually Southern China.

I doubt if you will get permission, but talk to this guy, I think he instructed in China

Thank you for the follow up ; I also found the procedures here in the meanwhile, China Flight Clearance Procedure (http://www.thaiflyingclub.com/linkprocedurechina.html) . You are right, I am not sure if permission will be given but I know of a few cases it has been (or rejected because of single engine). Another issue will be the Avgas.

They got permission to fly microlights across Mainland China, sadly one of them perished alkong the way, so maybe the Chinese are even more restrictive these days, but you never know.
..and didnt they have a little trouble with a certain balloonist who just went thru their airspace anyway?
