Hi there,

Can someone tell me the purpose of non-radar London Information in an area covered by LARS?

What does London Info do that LARS cannot do?

If there are some pilots in the same area, some of whom are talking to London Info, others to Brize, and others to Farnborough - does this overlap cause problems or raise safety concerns for anyone?

Many thanks

London LARS gives you traffic information so that you do not "bump" into other aeroplanes and/or controlled airspace.
London Information gives you every other thing ie: Weather actuals and forecasts, Joining CAS clearances, Facilities information (VOR freqs, Airfield Freqs, etc) Relays via the telephone such as revising ETAs at airfields, liaision with other airfields, ATC Centres both within the UK and the remainder of Europe, and loads of other "good stuff"
I would suggest that both units aims are complimentary to each other rather than in competition.
