Hi,
I have been doing some research on the Saunders Roe Princess for a university essay on "Aeronautical dead ends" and have been finding it quite interesting.
Although i have been finding it hard to find information from reliable sources on a few things :ugh:
At the moment i have been looking into the Princesses development problems and have found it hard to find information on;
:Proteus engine supply problems causing delays to the project
- and that there were reliability problems with the engine and propeller gear boxes.
- the engines were lacking in power and not developing the 3500hp that had been planned.
If anybody has any information on the above problems/ can point me in the right direction or about the Princess it would be greatly appreciated.
I have been to the local library and got the three books that they had on flying boats but had little information and have found most of my information on flight global, british airways website and a few other websites.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

A trawl through this lot should help.
