It is being reported in Indian news, without much detail of Saudi flight from Chennai to Jeddah having caught fire after take-off. The report seems to be rather contradictory as the aircraft is reported be at a remote parking without any information of it making a landing.

Saudia is in the news for all the wrong reasons of late.
What with a leased 747 literally making a berbecue out of one of it's engines in Cairo?

Would the Chennai aircraft also be a leased one or B 777 SV owned?

SV has a 777 operated from MAA on a Monday, SV 769; it's shown (on Quicktrip) as a 77W, although SV doesn't operate these (yet); most likely one of its own 772s. As far as I'm aware, it doesn't have any wet leased 777s.
