OK, one for the ol' guys -

PXE I remember gave us Pixie - but what was the Fields Aviation tug callsign, and why?

Im on an antique tractor forum and vehicle tugs have raised their head - if you see what I mean.

Bren?

You got me there, Mick. Do you remember the PanAm super stairs? Whenever that called, Ace Carter would sing "Here he comes, Superstairs, going to the hangar to collect his spares"...

PS... Remember SanDan??

Ah, sanDan; almost the first thing John Wood told me was never, EVER stand downwind of that one.....

ISTR that 'Tug 42' was the c/s of Fields, but there was a specific reason.......

Bit esoteric this - but since you've asked I'm pretty sure it was Tug 457.......no idea why.

Thanks, Vapourer - I wonder if it was because of the registration number - which is what caused Pixie to be named....
