Hi, I just wanna know what is the current status for a fresh CPL/ME/IR 250+ hours license holder from the Philippines' employment opportunities? How is the GenAv scence? Flight instructor opportunities? (initial salary if it may apply)

Thanks for your inputs!:ok:

I saw your post asking a similar-type question on another thread. Well GA aka gen-av has its ups and downs. As with most countries and places; you really gotta know some people to get you through the door. There still is a lot of work, after that, like putting in an 8-10 hour (or even more) day without pay sometimes. Don't worry, that doesn't happen too often. On the brighter tip though, the pay is okay if you get to fly daily (450-850/hour) for SEL. Tax free a lot of times. And there are several charter companies and flight schools that would allow you to fly with other people/companies when you have nothing to do for them. Getting a MEL job with a fresh license would be a little tougher cause the operators would probably want pilots with a little more experience (500-1000hours). It doesn't mean they wont let you fly their SEL a/c's though. Work on staying current and being good at your craft. All the while simultaneously establishing a good network with pilots, operators, and enthusiasts from all walks. They will remember you when you leave a lasting impression.

Thanks for your advice? How about to get into the airlines here in Phil? How many hours would likely get you in?

Minimum CPL/IR 500 hours total time. 20 hrs multiengine time minimum. That should get you into the right seat of an ATR or Dash 8. But you might be up against guys who have more than that.

Great opportunity awaits those with minimum qualifications to join the Airline. People are leaving , so a number of pilots needed to fill up the vacated positions.

All the best ! and dont expect too much from this companies, but good enough to provide you with a decent Aircraft rating for future endeavours.

Sorry fellas; everyone tells me something different regarding the minimums at both airlines. A buddy of mine is an ATR FO at bupak and I remember him telling me that 800TT is sufficient (that was in 2008). If ever I end up flying for either airline I'll make sure I pay the info forward.
