I understand the basics of importing a 'N' reg plane from the US or anywhere for that matter. Obtaining an export c of a. But What about 'warbirds' ? that we obviously have to operate on a permit to fly in the UK.. .Also how is it determined if an aircraft should have to fly on a permit or a standard UK c of a.. .. .The aircraft in question is a Cessna O-2A (USAF Skymaster).. .. .A group of us (3) are avid fans and would love to bring one across the pond. But before we go any further we need to know where we stand on operating it. This is further complicated with current private examples in the US flying in both standard , transport and experimental, exibition categories.. .. .As I'm not aware of any private examples in Europe (the O-2 is very different from the reims FTB examples now released in Portugal). We are lookingfor any help.. .

You might want to email Beagle who is often on the Wannabes and Aircrew fora - he seems to know what he's on about.

You have two options CAA permit to fly or leave it on the FAA system as a lot of the warbirds are and set up a US trust company to run it.
