Today I flew Vancouver to Sydney aboard an Air Canada Boeing 777 200 ER.

Because of high headwinds it took 16 hours and 15 minutes.

I was wondering just how much more range this had when we landed in SYD.

We had near a full load out of Vancouver about 90% full.

Can someone give me an idea of just how much further we could of flown.

Thanks -

Air Canada does not operate the 200ER that was a 200LR. So well within it's range.

Tim,

However much more range the aircraft might have had if it had been filled with fuel, you have to understand we only take fuel loads appropriate to the actual flight. The 200-LR is capable of longer flights than that (Out to around 19hrs still with almost a MZFW load) but that doesn't mean you landed is Sydnay with three hours fuel on board- more like one-and-a-bit if Canadian use industry standard flight-planning.
