Any airfields (I can't think of any) or private strips near Bude, Cornwall that may be available for occasional visitors. Any pointers?

A couple of other options to consider;

Eaglescott and Bodmin are both about 30 miles by road from Bude.
I've no experience of Eaglescott (other than flying overhead), but Bodmin is a lovely airfield. Staff are all very helpful and the grass runways are always immaculate.

I flew out of Perranporth & Plymouth for a few years, but they are a bit too far from Bude at 50 - 55 miles each.

Wherever you chose, you will have some fantastic scenery to look out at; a trip around the lands end peninsula is worth the extra fuel, just watch out for the rotary types out of Penzance heading to the Isles of Scilly.

Happy flying....

Thanks guys, that was helpful.

Bodmin I know, a bit too far away for this plan, but info appreciated.

Eggesford is a great little airfield and rather like Auster heaven - they have some interesting types there! The runway is like 2 back-to-back Harrier ski jumps, though, which can be a little off-putting for some but is fine if you are aware of it. I'd highly recommend this strip.
