All you lucky Bonanza owners / syndicate members, can you tell me what your full inclusive (wet) hourly rate is? (incl. engine fund etc.)

How does this compare to a Baron?

I fly a nice A36 on a no equity basis. £180/month and £230/hr wet.

OUCH! Is that typical? I mean, how does your aircraft rate in terms of airframe hours, engine etc.?

What about compared to a Baron? And, anyone any ideas on say, a PA46?

It's a 1998 model, with 1200 hours airframe and engine. Tip tanks, Garmin 530W, King KFC 225 autopilot, mode S transponder etc etc. It's not cheap, but cruises comfortably at 170 kts, and I don't have to tie up any capital with it.

No idea on Baron and PA46 comparison.

£230/hr should generate a healthy fund ;)

I used to rent out my TB20 for £80/hr + VAT DRY, and was making about £30/hr gross profit on that.

Typical low level cruise fuel flow is about 11GPH (42 litres/hr) so you can work out the fuel cost.

Sensible operating costs for a Baron would be in the region of £300 an hour, with the fixed costs (Insurance, Hangarage) hitting you for about £12K a year

The original question is impossible to answer. The hourly rate will vary between literally thousands of pounds per hour for a single owner with low usage based at a regional airport, down to maybe £170ph for several owners and moderate to high usage at a grass strip. Loss of interest on capital employed in the aircraft is another cost to be factored in.

You need to work out the minimum fixed overheads (Hangarage, Insurance, annual inspection etc) before adding the cost of fuel (say at least £100ph) then dividing by 200 and or by the number of group owners.
Annual costs are going to be somewhere between £17000pa and £11k pa.
And thats just before the engine blows up.

BS, you can add a few 100's to that, if you count everything (annuals included)

Oh, I hope you don't fly IFR in Europe with it, it's above the 1999kg MTOW rule.

At current interest rates, loss of interest on capital employed for a Bonanza probably works out at about 37p per year..:E
