Having only recently started flying lessons i, as many others do, have been considering what opportunities may be available to me in the future post PPL. Ultimately my goal is to gain a CPL/ATPL, however, this forms part of my long term ambition with my short term goals being to gain my PPL and enjoy as much as possible.

Anyway, without wanting to dribble on i was wanting to find out whether or not anyone knows of anywhere in the UK where any of the PA-46 series of aircraft are available for rental for PPL holders or if the only opportunity to fly one of these aircraft would be through a group share.

I appreciate this may sound like a peculiar question from someone in the early stages of their PPL training but it is an aircraft i have always dreamed of flying since i first became interested in GA.

GO Aviation at Lydd EGMD used to rent out an N-reg PA46.

The link HR GO plc (http://www.goaviation.net/services.html) no longer works though - it takes you to the recruitment company which used to run this.

If on a G-reg, this needs a Type Rating though, and it would be a significant step up, requiring serious technical understanding of engine management, not to mention boring stuff like navigation at ~ 250kt TAS :) You could fly it around VFR but it would be a bit wasted...
