Can anyone help me with these Mass and Balance terminologies of JAA and they real meaning?i'm busy study for the JAR and i'm begining the Flight Performance & Planning 1.For instance BEM corresponds to OEW(operating empty weight)from the system i know.What are the following:

DOM,TOM,OM,TL,UL,TOF,LM.

I'm trying to figure out the Mass and Balance graphic as it's labelled on the OXFORD Flight Performance and Planning 1.Any help is much appreciated

Go to the CAA website and search for CAP696.

This the book that you will use in the during your training and in the exam.

It is available for download in pdf format.

Section 1 contains most of the terms and definitions that you are looking for.

Weight control is one of those subjects where terminology is a bit casual.

In every case, one has to refer to the definition which the writer has adopted to find the exact intent of many terms. Generally, in practice, the differences may be subtle and not of too great an import.

For exams, though, it can come down to pendantry if you want to get a mark or zero for the question.
