Not sure if I'm posting in the right forum, or whether I should be posting in the Biz-Jet one above, but...

I've just tried to find info on a new Piper Saratoga on Piper's website, but it looks like they don't make them anymore. Is this correct???
I can't find the 6XT or 6X either?? I know I haven't looked at new for a while, but what is the go? Anyone know....

Production of the Saratoga was discontinued in 2009.

Production of the 6X and 6XT ceased in late 2007.

There's now no piston single between the Arrow / Archer III and the Matrix (unpressurised Mirage).

Thankyou SD :ok:

Well, quite a surprise! Just shows how long since I've actually looked at a New Piper :ooh:

I always thought the Saratoga was quite successful, much better than the Matrix and Malibu, but I can see they're looking at future styling. The Saratoga was a low sitting aircraft, not good ground clearance, same old Piper early undercarriage, etc ... Pity, still an excellent aircraft! :)

But the Cessna 206 is still in production and much better... IMO

You are not the only one, which is why almost nobody has been buying them :)

SD - do you mean to say there is no 6-seater in production below the PA46? I thought they still made the Bonanzas.

I looked at some 6-seaters when I was in the market in 2002, but in terms of range none of them could carry 6 real people much beyond the end of the runway. And neither can the PA46, despite its bulk. I guess this has become an increasingly nichey market. Diamond were going to address it with the DA50, which is designed to carry four doughnut-diet Americans and I am sure will sell very well, and if/when that comes out it is sure to make 6-seater pistons even more a specialist market, for ever catered adequately by the used stuff out there.

Think they are made by Beech!?

I was referring to the New Piper aircraft company.
