Hi All, just wanted to say thanks to the people at Bourn and Enstone who made me coffee and were so helpful during my QXC today as part of my NPPL (SLMG) course.

Almost there :ok:

Well done,I reckoned that was the hardest part of the course, apart from landing.
Actually QXC was the scariest, all alone, and needing to find an airfield miles away that I'd never been to before.
Got there in the end.
Good luck with the skills test
Lister:)

Well done, it's a great feeling of achievement when you get back home again isn't it!

Good luck with the rest of it :)

Congratulation! On my QXC I had to divert to a non-approved airport due weather, and nearly had a dog-strike. All fun memories :ok:

Well done mate ... I still remember how I felt getting back from mine, and that was a long time ago. I reckon I touched down about two days after the plane !:D:D:D

Congrats and well done!

It was definitely the most exciting part of my PPL.

can't shake the mental image of a flock of airborne dogs on approach...

Well done on the QXC. I was glad to get mine out the way!
Not too much longer to go now till the skills test (?)

As for the dog...was it chasing a pigeon at the time?

People put airports in the funniest places. The grass strips do blend in. In fact I've flown near a few strips that I know are close by, but haven't yet spotted them;)

A number of glider pilots have landed in a field, only to notice aircraft using a nearby runway. This generally is cause for great amusement from the retrieve crew:uhoh:

Congratulations! I remember doing my QXC nearly (10yrs ago..!) as a great day and the highlight of the whole course: great sense of achievement, for me more than first solo in a lot of ways!

Well done mate!
