So having taken the advice of many that I have spoken to I decided to make the big move. Jumped in the car left the comfort of the East Coast and went north to find a job. Headed for Darwin with a good thousand hours and all the right boxes ticked!
But I seem to have hit a stumbling block. Although I am here, ready to go and happy to move anywhere I am having difficulty finding contacts to get beyond the front desk of the various operators. It seems that in the end my resume just ends up in the large pile of other resumes and unlikely to get the opportunity to stand out.
My question is, how when you arrived in a new city not knowing anyone did you manage to make yourself known to operators and meet other pilots?
