CS Prop overhaul costs

Guys/Gals,

Does anyone have a feel for the likely cost of overhauling a McCauley 3-blade CS prop ? The governor does not need attention ...

Also any recommendations as to where to get this done (UK) would be appreciated.

If the blades are not loose (ie no back to front movement) and the leading edges have no damage, then £1500-2000 + VAT and shipping. If they find anything like corrosion etc then the bill could easily double.

Can't recomend anyone in particular as my prop was a Hoffmann.

I paid £3500 for a 3-blade Hartzell 2 years ago. There was no real damage on it; just some little nicks that had been dressed out. It was done at the 6 year point.

I should check of it is one of the McCauley props that needs the mandatory oil mod. Mine needed this and it added a grand to the cost.

Try Proptech in Portsmouth. I got a brand new 3 blade Top Prop for £7600 from them.....Service was great and delivery was free. I guess it depends where you are based though....
