I was watching the winter olympics today, and wondered if / how the american homeland paranioa people, stop private flights from canada ? just out of interest

You haven't yet gone through the hoops of enrolling in eAPIS; then putting in a flight declaration.

At least in Canada, you don't have the worry of a bunch of armed to the teeth SWAT types driving up and pointing their weapons at you as has happened to a few folks who filed notices of departure from the USA:uhoh:

You have always been subject to inspection departing the US (and most other countries), but the Yanks are doing quite a bit more of it. The last time I drove back to Canada, SWAT types were stopping folks at the side of the road on the way out.
