Is there a problem with flying ability in Europe?

Below is a copy and paste direct from the Salzburg AIS.

Pilots are requested to fly the SID precisely. Salzburg Airport provides an up to date flight information capture system which registers all approaches and departures.
Noticeable deviations from the IFR departure route will be reported to your airline. The noise measure points are specified at the following chart.

I reckon it is more to do with the NIMBYs who do not want any noise near them.

The noise monitors are placed in the most vocal areas and any deviation, whether for weather or traffic, is noted and reported.

Same deal in Australia, merely the noise monitoring people issuing a cop out statement to appease the public..

Just saw your ML locale. Check out ASA website for the monitors around Tulla etc for an idea. I am pretty sure the monitors are listed either there or on the DOTARS site.

I guess the problem is the new german minister of transport. He is born somewhere near Salzburg, below one of the departure or arrival routes. And after his election he has no more urgent needs than doing some lobbyists a pleasure and trying to reroute in- and outbounds.

Embarrasing.

General Aviation :: Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart (http://engl.salzburg-airport.com/generalaviation_337.html)

I think I should have emphasised something - Pilots are requested to fly the SID precisely.

I wonder why they (airport authority/government/relevant body) feel the need to put this in writing. Surely it's one of those things that doesn't really need to be said.

The YMEL monitors are on the AsA website, as is the "flight tracking system" which allows various nearby residents to report a flight they feel was not on the correct flight path, was excessively loud or anything that the ****-stirrers around Tulla (and Essendon) wish to complain about.

There is a thread about the b/s going on at Essendon and Moorabbin has had it's fair share of complaining residents - all of which have received some fan mail from PPRuners! :E

Regarding the new transport minister born in Salzburg, I'd say there are probably real issues to deal with before he/she starts stuffing around with things he/she has limited idea on.

I always find it strangely amusing when residents complain about noise and flightpaths - these are the same residents who are highly aware of it before they moved in. Complaining because they can? PPruning because I can? Yes.

ONe other to consider Cookie

A lot of the SIDs in Europe are not RNAV based and are flown reference ground based aids still, so perhaps there is a little hint for the crews to stay on top of the scalloping radials!! Hmmm scallops, would be nice if I could them here in Frankfurt!!

Ahhh Frankfurt - I wonder if QF will continue flying there (that's for another thread).

WA scallops, SA King Prawns and King Island Crays = big night in!

Now back to the aviation side of life....SIDS and ground based aids, still!
