Hi all, after my efforts and subsenquent redundancy and lock out of G-AWZK at MAN AVP,i have joined a group to try and save Trident 1C G-ARPO the only example left in the world...see below:

Well today we have great news to announce that the donation account is now up and running on the website Save The Trident Preservation of Trident 1C G-ARPO (http://www.savethetrident.org/) for the movement and restoration of Hawker Siddley Trident 1c G-ARPO. We need to raise £14,000 initially to cover the cost to dismantle and move her to the North East Aircraft Museum in Sunderland from which she will then be restored for public view. All donation monies will be spent wisely with thought out decisions and good planning and corruption free. All donors wil be entered on the roll of honour with the trident at the museum and invited to the opening ceremony when we first open her to the public officially. We are anticipating moving the trident around october this year so we can start work on her but will need to have the finances in place to achieve this first stage. We would appreciate all donations large or small and would like to thankyou for all your support on this great day for our british heritage.
regards tony jarrett and the save the trident team

Thanks in advance..

Yes indeed it would be great to see the old lady fly but as trident man has said only hooked up to the crane but rest assured it is being saved and final cutting stage is this week with the wing removal and then soon after its moving to Sunderland . You sure all will get to step on this last 1c airframe at the museum. If you go to www.savethetrident.org (http://www.savethetrident.org) that is where you can donate and read all the posts of what we done so far from the start on Day 1 through the different stages of breakdown , with pictures as well as us stripping the Trident 2 at belfast and with some great sponserships being able to get the all the parts back to the museum along with the rudder and wingtips... TNT was fantastic there for us, but even jet2 tried to get them back but wouldnt fit in their aircraft...We are also getting together a flight history from all the ex pilots logbooks, so if any ex trident pilots are reading this, contact us right now we need your imfo guys , cheers all tony

Hi Yes the northeast(yellow one) is a 1e and we have the last 1c... . We are retaining 1c features but putting it in the northeast livery..BA/BEA liveries are represented on the 2 x 3b,s and the 1 x 2e that are restored so wanted to represent the 1e and 1c that flew in the northeast.
