just a couple questions regarding B744 fms...

1. when we feed wind and temperature in legs page of fms at a particular flight level, does it get copied to all subsequent way point ahead or we have to manually feed the temperature at every waypoint.

2. If the temp. remains in small font does FMS recognise it or else we have to select it to make large font...

3. Also lets say we are cruising at FL 350 and wind/temp. are fed for this level. Now if we step climb to FL 370 will FMS take the entry of wind/temp. automatically from FL 350 entries or we have to manually copy it in RTE DATA page..

My answers:

1. It will propagated forward (and backwards) until a different entry is found. This is why it is often suggested that working through the flight plan you enter new value(s) when the wind varies by >30degrees, velocity by >30kts or temp by +/-3degrees C.

2. Yes, see above

3. Yes and no. If no other entries are available it will use the w/v but correct the temp for std deviation up to -56deg C (I believe).

Hope that helps ....
