Hi guys, I'm currently doing the type rating on A320

Encountered an issue today. Suppose you are at a relatively high gross weight, and you get your flaps jammed.

The speed indications on your PFD are linked to your Flap Lever. So if you are trying to extend your flaps and move your lever, you want to maintain a relatively high speed for you not to stall with your jammed flaps. Is it possible that an overspeed warning is triggered due to the red barber pole moving downwards?

I would guess it would be inhibited but I did not manage to find it in my FCOM.

Thanks

Krisfar,

Can I suggest you read the Flight Crew Training Manual allied with the QRH checklist. Initial actions for any slat/flap jammed is to pull speed as otherwise flap lever will be controlling speed according to flap lever position. Pulling current speed will give you a safe speed to fly. The Overspeed warning will give a correct warning (it is sensed from actual flap position). Barbers pole will be incorrect as it is based on flap lever position.
