I would advise a new unit rather than overhaul as they usualy last longer, as to sorces try Airpart Supply at Booker or Adams at Biggin.

I have found that buying direct from the USA is OK until somthing goes wrong, the companys in the USA are usualy OK about fixing faults but the shipping and downtime costs are usualy prohibitive.

I have had a number of alternators form National Air Parts in DeLand Florida National AirParts NEW FAA-PMA High Output Alternators (http://www.nationalairparts.com/) , both for replacement, and modification (200 Amps / 28 Volts on a Cessna 207), and been very happy with their serivce and knowledge
