If you have an AGI plus an instrument rating can you get an IGI without a written test? The FOI was complete with the AGI and the instrument test was taken with the rating. Thanks

it might be separate.
lemme dig through AC 61-35.
in some certain cases an AGI covers an IGI, especially when you're seeking a Gold Seal, etc...
in most cases it's just a simple written, and you're good, plus it lasts for life (requires no medical)

No you need to pass the Instrument ground instructor test as well.
