Any truth in the rumour that Aer Lingus were on call for BA when the strike looked likely?

It's hardly worth replying to bearing in mind your one post but in one word the answer to your question is no.

Time to move to Jetblast.

British Airways have a fleet of roughly 250 aircraft, mostly long/medium haul, wide body (that's the aircraft, not the FA's)

Aer Lingus have a fleet of under 50 aircraft, most of them only short haul single aisle.

Hopefully that answers your question, although I'm not sure you should have even asked it.

Sorry if I've dipped my toe into the wrong pool.

My question was genuine. Last week there was a great deal of traffic in connection to the BA strike and I heard a A321 took a spot in LHR, hence I heard the question being asked.

Thanks for heads-up, although some of the airlines that were on call were also very small, many providing only 1 unit.

Things are very tough for us middle-men!

Jet Blast - please explain??!!

Certainly when pilots take action they can lobby one of 2 positions, Max competition or non extension of route mileage.

So an airline called to cover striking pilots may well be what they requested.

As for cabin crew, I doubt they have that tool.
