Hi everyone, can anyone tell me where I can get an up to date TAF/METAR for KRT/HSSS. It seems that since the Eid holiday the met office in KRT has not been issuing METAR's and only the occasional TAF. I've tried ADDS and Jeppesen to no avail, numbers I have for KRT tower are also no good.....getting really frustrating can anyone help!!!!:ugh:

Just had a look at the UK Met Office site (Met Office: Weather and climate change (http://www.metoffice.com)) for which you need to be registered and all they had was this:
HSSS 101600Z 101818 36010G20KT CAVOK
No METAR available.

No data on Aeroweather...normally reliable.
Why on earth do you want to go anywhere near Khartoum anyway?
(Joking for the PC among you, we all know that no-one sane wishes to go anywhere near Sudan unless work requires it)

Thanks guys, usually they produce them regularly, don't know why they are not issuing weather, can't get any for HSPN either so must be nationwide issue I guess? :ugh:

Ah Khartoum! No change there then!
About 30 years ago I climbed the steps to the tower (during Ramadan), to file a flight plan, as one did. Going past the the communications section, they were all asleep in front of their teleprinters. I reckon 50% of the teleprinters were rattling out information with no paper in the printers! :ugh:

Another generally useful source, with the TAF only
Weather : Khartoum Sudan (http://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/africa.php?icao=HSSS)
Call on 11,300 USB...usually works.

Not necessarily, if its Khartoum you want, you will hear everyone else including Mumbai and a Chinese? Radio Station playing "lovely" music... :ugh:
But Khartoum? No.
Just got back from an African Hajj operation, sigh...
