Hi,
I was flying yesterday and I got the METAR for Madrid via ACARS. After the usual weather report, it had the following on the end
R99/29//95
I don't know what this means, can anyone help please?
Thanks

Hi small_dog,
that seems to be a SNOWTAM in METAR style.
A repeated previous report (99) (the following slash (/) is often used as visual divider from the rest of the report) saying that water or water patches (2) are covering 51% to 100% (9) of the runway with no measurable or significant depth (//) and breaking action good (95)
In other words, the runway seems to be wet and BA is good.

Off the top of my head, R99 means all runways. 2 I don't remember 9 means greater than 51% (of the rwy length) //is a measure of breaking coefficient. 99 is eh.. Good? :-)
Hope it helps

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies, that's really useful to know! I thought it might have been a snowtam of sorts but I've never seen that style before.
Thanks once again for the replies
Cheers

@Airbus_a321:
In my experience things like R25R/29//95 or RWY25R/29//95 (should have been 7529//95) are somewhat common around Europe.
