View Full Version : Changing Company Culture

G'day,
I would be interested to hear any stories of Airlines that have gone from a poor safety culture to a good one and what things helped to bring about the change.
In particular I am wanting to see my company's socks pulled up a bit with regard to following SOP's on the flight-deck. Having flown for a few different airlines I can see that attitude to the job and SOP's is a key factor in a safe operation, but how does a good attitude come about?
We are well paid and get a good amount of time off work yet many pilots seem to view the SOP's as optional or at least something to be manipulated.
I am not in a management role, purely line flying so I am not going to have a direct influence as such. I would however like to do my bit towards driving the operation in the right direction (in addition to following SOP's of course).
Any practical examples out there of flight deck cultures being changed for the better?
Regards,
Framer.
