Did anyone other PPRuNers see a very low 172 over Brighton on Wednesday at around 2pm?

It seemed to be no more than 500ft AGL over the town, and then followed the beach over the pier at around 300-400ft.

Reg was PH-LIN.

Must have been our dear friend "Biggles" ! having perfected his tree landing technique maybe he has cast his attention to "Piers"! bit like an aircraft carrier without the rolling motion :)

Wonder how he is? come back Biggles these forums are getting very boring without you

Which trees are best to land in in wonder, not Oak I presume?

Surely the Old English Elstree is a good one to land on:}

In this case, I think a Beech would probably be best. Try not to make an 'ash of the landing though.

Sure it was a 172 and not a Larcher?

A fur tree should give a soft landing.

I think we need to brush up on the (in an irish accent) "Tree Point Landing" technique.

I think that must be the cause he was trained by an Irish instructor :E
