Hi,

I am currently building a Cessna C172 flight simulator, and would love to get the feel for a Cessna for real to increase the realism of my build.

I gather that there could be a few pilots who fly alone, and I for one would love to share a flight with someone, I can certainly offer good conversation, and I am very interested with all aspects of aviation and geography. And I am a very friendly chap too!

I am 25 years old travel & tourism student from Essex on a very limited income, and would jump at the chance for a flight how ever long it may be!

I dont know if I am asking for too much, but if you don't ask, you don't get!

Anyway, If you have the odd seat free, then I will be very happy to fill it, and pay towards fuel / landing fees etc!

Thank you.

Alex

wooop wooop wooop....you cant use the word 'pay' on the private flying forums, its sets alarms off!:p
Of course you can 'share costs' ......I cant help unfortunately as I am to far away from you but have you visited your local airfields and had a chat to anyone lurking around a C172, put notices up on the notice boards there? it may help in your search for shared cost flight!

Good luck.

Alex

Are you using a 172 cockpit or building a mockup? or are you building an aircraft withing one of the flight sims like MSFS or X plane?

If it is MSFS then you are limited by the flight engine within MSFS which does some things well and others badly.

Rob Young was excellent at tricking MSFS into doing things in a more realistic way. You have limitations on two fronts the MSFS flight dynamics engine and the control system neither which do a fantastic job of simulating the differening control forces and movement involved in flight.

Good luck! Take yourself off to an airfield around London and place your request on the notice boards or ask. I am sure there are many who will gladly help especially if you offer to chip in for the flight.

Hi Alex,

I fly C172's from North Weald (10 miles or so North-East of London) and may be able to offer you the odd seat. Drop me a PM if you want to know more.

Cheers,

Dan

Did you read or post to the sticky thread "Spare Seats Available" in the top?

I expect that most pilots would expect you to contribute something to the cost. Under your circumstances as a student it might not have to be the full share though.

I don't know if C172 is really important to you. I fly a PA28 from west london and sometimes a spare seat is available.

Hi,

Its Alex here, who posted in the 'private flying' section.

I live in Basildon, and Basildon is not too far from North Weald, I guess I can always get a lift down there!

Even if it is something to consider in the future, I am interested.

All the best.

Alex

Hi Alex,

I live near Basildon and fly from North Weald, but not a C172. If you get a seat in a C172 & I'm heading over to NW, I can offer you a lift. PM me for details.

Alex, if you live in Basildon then to be honest North Weald is one of the closest airfields to you anyway....I fly 172's at least weekly. At the moment I've had seats filled with friends/girlfriend whilst they're back from university for the Summer, but I'm sure that after September I'll be flying around with lots of empty seats and would gladly take you up once we've worked out some kind of cost sharing. If you want to speak further then PM me.
