Forgive the silly question, but I've always wondered what the difference is between 4 day recurrent training and an LPC?

A simple explanation would be very much appreciated :ok:

The LPC is simply the actual flight test to make sure you still fly the aircraft within the limits and it will include an Instrument test aswell. So once a year you renew your type rating and your IF rating.

The recurrent is all the reviewing of systems and the few hours exrtra training you get in the sim. Now someone can tell me, is the recurrent compulsory? I know i flew aircraft but the company never paid out for recurrent training. Then one day our chief pilot had to make up some questions for me to answer, this was supposedly some kind of recurrent training in order to keep the authourities happy.
