Does anybody know if FAA hires any foreign ATCO who are not US-citizens? Interested especially in Jacksonsville or Miami enroute, holding Australian and European passport.
Thank for any reply

I am pretty sure they don't. I am also pretty sure, one of their prerequisites is being a 'US Citizen'!

But try their website FAA: Home (http://www.faa.gov) to get a concrete answer!

Hope this helps!!!!!

This has been done to death and the answer is still NO! Federal employees must be US citizens, and they have a huge pool of ex-military controllers waiting to join the FAA.

But a huge shortage of controllers?

Why would you want to work in the US?

When the US has a shortage of controllers, it's generally because of a hiring-freeze; nothing to do with the available pool of ex-mil controllers or college graduates with aviation degrees.

The FAA is hiring trainee controllers by the hundreds and by the thousands. Any hiring freeze left off about 5 years ago but to answer the original question about foreign ATCO's the answer is: No.

If anybody interested, I have seen this advertisment: ATCPrep.com™ - Preparation Suite for Air Traffic Controller Selection and Training (AT-SAT) (http://www.atcprep.com) . Has anybody purchased this software for the AT-SAT assessment and can tell me his experiences? Thx...

Why is it a choice between Crewe and Southern California?

For me Cheshire wins, having lived all over the world for the last 10 years I am lucky enough to be back home and I wouldn't change for any amount of teeth whitner!
