How did you post this if it is? Or are you accessing the internet via 'other means' :E :E

Can't give all the facts away! ....if you live here long enough to understand...but, it is now a blocked site!

Lived here longer than I care to acknowledge  Thanks to 'other means' we are able to see the horrors within our neighbour's borders in the last 10 days. It's a perfect example of how you can't censor the internet.

It gets blocked in Oman every once in a while - due to them updating their filters.
It usually happens because the filter has picked up a "bad" set of words. One assumes the Jet Blast Porn threads over the past week would not have helped.

No conspiracy - no eavesdropping - you just call up OmanHell and ask them you unblock it: it takes about an hour.

I was in the old continent yesterday and had the same problem, so I don't think it is related to the UAE....

I have just tried to access the thread from another machine not equipped with 'Flash-Whizzo' the mystery ingredient....and it says 'could not connect'...so not sure if that is our wonderful purveyor of quality communications or another way saying that the page is 'blocked' to protect the religious and moral values of T.C. Lark!!

Its been blocked in UK and elsewhere intermittently. Suspect a server problem, nothing to do with UAE. See thread in Jetblast.:ok:

I'm a little north of there, and we get the same thing. No internet censorship here, but frequently get the message "could not connect," and it acts as though pprune is down. It's not, but for whatever reason, it seems harder to get pprune than other sites. Usually just wait and try again.

i too am seeing "cannot connect" message so it would seem PPRUNE problem and not the eSl@t's blocking software :ok:

Great to see our PC world can now blame the Arabians for this "Could not connect" error. :ok:

As mentioned in the Computer Issues thread,Pprune is hosted in California. And this glitch occurred over the weekend there,so hopefully will be resolved in a few hours as Monday morning arrives. There are quite often various levels of service support available for web hosting services depending on how critical the site is to your business. You pay a LOT more for immediate tech support. Also the provider may promise 99% availability in a contract ( just like one I had with a provider).Over a year that means it can be down for 87.6 hours ( 3.65 days) without breaching the contract.
