"Hummingbirds 'faster than jets" is title of article in BBC news today. Speeds of almost 400 body lengths per second. :ok:

Seems that the speed is amazing!

Seems that a small bird can outperform a large bird; analagous to a small aircraft reaching greater speed and manuverability than a large aircraft.

When you think about it, the flying performance of birds is incredible by the standards of today's aircraft.

Independent newspaper on same subject says hummingbird pulls 9 G's when it pulls out of it's dive. :ok:
