Hello and welcome,

This is the UK CAA guide to licencing

ELGD | Personnel Licensing | Safety Regulation (http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=177&pagetype=68&gid=777)

You really need to ask questions in here

http://www.pprune.org/engineers-technicians-22/

as this is the engineers part of PPrune.

The other place to look, though it is not easy to find information on is EASA's site.

See

European Aviation Safety Agency - easa.europa.eu (http://www.easa.eu.int/ws_prod/index.html)

The UK can get a book to record your experience in, but the Irish have an example of how to record it here

http://www.iaa.ie/library_download.jsp?libraryID=54

I hope that helps
