First JY then CO and SK.
LH today announced that they are to withdraw FRA and MUC services at end Oct.

What is happening to the STN airline comminity. It just leaves lowcost carriers, cargo and the odd charter.

Not good for the airport and the staff. Good luck to them. I hope it works out.

Business travel is marginal at STN. SK and LH came in responding to the growth of the low-cost airlines. The routes were never profitable, but of strategic interest (to limit low-cost growth). In the current environment they cannot be maintained. Now the low-cost airlines will thrive and make STN even bigger than any traditional airline could be capable of.

Interesting item on BBC look East last night which declared Stansted the only airport in the UK to have an increase in passengers year on year since Sept 11th. LGW was down 10% LHR down 20% but STN up 10%,....must be the nine-ninety niners!
