Wow, I think rental prices in Florida have notched up somewhat, probably in part to do with increased fuel costs and the lousy exchange rate against the pound. Today, I am in Daytona, Florida but have car so can easily relocate to any other part of Florida, if anybody knows some place with reasonable rental rates. I have been quoted $185 USD an hour for renting a 172 sp and it seems a tad expensive!

If anybody can give me a pointer, I will be grateful.

Give tailswheelsetc a call at Winterhaven. They have some very cheap rates and a varied fleet. They also do not make these fule surcharges that others seem to do and are not a sausage factory. They are also a symbiotic business sharing Instructors and examiners with Jack Brown's Seaplane base next door.

Thanks Keygrip, that is a nice location on the coast - my partner likes the beach!

Do you have a contact number to check availability?

Thanks Tinstaafl, I was trying to avoid the Mickey Mouse area if I could.
Thanks Bose-x I will check them out if I cant get fixed up at Vero Beach.

I spent quite a while at Voyager Aviation on Merrit Island (next to Cape Canavral). Really nice atmosphere with plenty of old flying bums hanging out there to share a coffee with. Dawn used to have a room to rent when i was there too.

All the best!

Also recommend them, Meg and Terry are fantastic people (exPat Brits) who run a great operation. Flown extensively with them over the years in the DA20 and 40.

Thanks for the tip, the people down at Sun Aviation at Vero Beach are a very friendly bunch and they have a Warrior 2 and a Warrior 3, both in exceptional condition! Availability is good as well! They also gave a 10% discount because I was spending over a thousand dollars with them! :ok:

120 $ at Aussie Air - Aussie Air - International Flight School - Flight school-Flight training-Pilot Training (http://www.aussieair.net/services/time-building_1)

Never go to Aussie Air, this company is a Scam, they steal your money and you don't fly!!! :ugh:
