Hello !

I've have a question regarding Cessna Service Letter SE84-8 from March 16, 1984. Guy from CAMO says that Cessna 152 is affected by this letter but I can't confirm that by the Internet search I had made. I've Avantext current subscription for Cessna 152 but no trace of SE84-8 there. I'm working on 1981 Cessna 152 with serial number 152850xx, is this aircraft affected by SE84-8 ?

Thanks

Ericson

This was the subject of FAA AD 84-10-01 and was mandatory for certain aircraft but not the C152.

As far as I am aware this is operators choice. Just to be sure this is the water drain mod

There is no current FAA AD covering this issue for the C152.

I would concur with the revised post above, the problem was wrinkling in the bagtanks on rubber bag tanks, so If memory serves me correctly the FAA AD was issued to cover those, I seem to remember there is a Cessna SE to fit the million and one fuel drains on the 152 but as it is a SE or SB it is none mandatory under EASA, get back onto your CAMO and get them to double check, after all that is what you are paying them for :) I have never seen one with them fitted.

Not at work so cannot confirm this for you.

you can check the Current Cessna 152 Ad's here, go Manufacturer then Model
Airworthiness Directives (http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAD.nsf/MainFrame?OpenFrameSet)

if it is the additional drains, is it not SEB 92-26R1

Likewise I have never seen this mod incorporated. I believe you ended up with 4 water drains in each tank.

Just did a quick search on the ATP system too on my Work Lappy and that does not flag it up either.

Sounds like you need a new CAMO!:ok:

SE84-8 applies to R172/177/205/206/207/210s, and adds drains to the collector tanks.

Thank you all for answers :ok:

Sounds like you need a new CAMO! You're right. SE84-8 is one of many bulletins that are not required for my Cessna 152 ( and others ). Other example is bulletin SE73-25 for 1981 Cessna 152! CAMO guy has no idea what he is doing. The funniest part is that this buggy maintenance program has been approved by polish CAA, but not for long, I've few questions to CAA how I can comply with it.

“million and one fuel drains” mod for Cessna 152 is mandatory in Poland. I can attach picture of C152 after this mod if you scratch your head how you can fit 7 or 8 fuel drains in such small aircraft.

sounds like a crafty way to make you convert it for crop-spraying :}

Yep, as I said the 152 one was covered under

SEB 92-26R1

basically it is the same layout the new 172's come with as standard
