Pass the word around about the poll...

90 mins old - 58 responses. might even do better than the last AOA vote, unfortunately

I can't believe the discrepancy between how many are gona take SLS and how many think it is needed.

That means that the majority who want to take SLS are doing it purely because they are SCARED

What a pathetic bunch. :yuk:

Maybe some of us just want some extra leave whilst only losing basic salary and keeping everything else. It's not a bad deal if your personal circumstances can afford it at the moment.

The funny thing is that you think that the leave will be awarded all at once. The company has already put down in writing that they will make every effort to assign the leave in not less than 1 week blocks.

Just like the company will make every effort to:

- Not schedule overnights between 18 and 30 hours.
- Not assign reserve duties when there is a change of duty.
- Not schedule freighter PX.
- Work stack rosters with leave allocated.

I expect no less from Cathay, but the pilot group should know better. You know the saying - Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

completely agree with Sqwak7700!

Striker58, you are doing irreversible damage by taking SLS. The company will be justified in saying that our salaries are too high if everyone just says " only losing basic salary"

Maybe some who voted that way have already taken their allotment.

So far.........75% of us don't believe SLS is required, but only 30% are prepared to vote no.

Remember guys........according to the AoA, the company has gone on record stating that there will be no victimisation against those who choose not to take SLS.

This is a voluntary pay cut.........do Cathay deserve (or need) your help? You abide by your contractual obligations........do they?

How have they rewarded you over your career?

Don't be intimidated. Don't lower the bar of our profession.

Great Poll! How do we get this stickered to the top of the forum list?

Bueller......Bueller!.........Anyone! Anyone!.......

I'm not sure - I think the moderators have to do that. I'll see what I can do...

Bograt sorry buddy your Poll has been sabotaged. I have watched about 200 Yes votes for SLS and CoS08 get clicked on in the last hour.... Someone in management must have quite a bit of bonus riding on the uptake of this.

treboryelk
22nd Apr 2009, 11:03
always possible that this is the view of those who read pprune!

WeakForce
22nd Apr 2009, 11:08
Yes however only as long as you believe there were 200 people voting yes in the space of an hour.

Thanks for trying but the poll is useless as it cannot be verified and is subject to abuse.

The ONLY valid poll is a VOTE by the members.

GE90

almost correct. The vote setup by Bograt does not actually specify 'members' and 'non-members' - AOA or A.N Other, so doesn't it therefore apply to anybody under the SLS/Cos08 n'est-ce-pas?

But of course you can continue living/swimming in your own fishbowl-world...

A very reliable source informs me that current GMA used to be tasked with writing on PPRUNE. Makes you wonder whose job it is to sabotage an online poll. No way have 400 guys logged on and voted since I did 7hrs ago. Thanks again mismanagement for showing us what depths you will plumb to get your way. Like giving us 10 days to make a career altering decision!

Seems very odd how the trend has suddenly reversed...
Intimidation continues...

treboryelk
22nd Apr 2009, 12:43
i can just see GMA now, signing in with 100's of Pprune use id's to massage a simple on-line poll can't you?

come on guys, lets get a little bit of a reality check on this! would the results of an online poll on FH really intimidate you....if so, maybe it is time for some SLS to re-evaluate where your balls ended up hiding over the past years.

I was just commenting on the exact same thing. A couple hundred "yes" votes in a very short space of time. Sabotaged for sure.

Hard to imagine your average pilot swaying the poll with lots of yes votes for this issue. So who would be behind a big "yes" do you think?

treboryelk
22nd Apr 2009, 12:58
you only have to read the posts on pprune to realise that this is hardly the home of your average pilot.

If I was a manager tasked with monitoring and contributing to PPRuNe (or simply one with a vested interest in swaying opinion), I would delegate to the rather substantial IT department the task of manipulating this poll.

Clear cookies, cache etc, vote.... clear cookies, cache etc.... revote and so on.

Simple. Nice idea, but the results mean nothing. Thanks for setting it up though.

TIGER321....

So the poll isn't going the way you want; ergo, it must be rigged.

Grow up!

Grow up?
200 "yes" votes in an hour?
Grow a brain.

Max,

It would seem that you need a bit of time off to relax. Easy mate. Grab some SLS if you can't get your contractual leave. :E

I don't need to see the poll go a particular way as you put it. Maybe it's just doing a "financial" on us - one way today and the other tomorrow.

I'm just saying that if this was a betting shop there would be an investigation underway into some very peculiar bets.

Remember, I'm on your side.

I think so, but still keeping an open mind.

I've just got back online today and the results don't seem to reflect what I hear around the bazaar's.

Thanks to all those who only voted once, whatever your vote was. I forgot about flushing the cache and trying again - I simply tried twice and the poll wouldn't let me vote twice.

See you out there...

Huge discrepancy between the 14% uptake of SLS as quoted by the GMA/DFO and the 49% uptake according to the poll.

Hmmm.

Methinks someone definitely drove the poll figures higher in order to try and sway/scare any fence-sitters. :=

hmmm....I know, why don't we just drop the idea of a poll? We all know that this is without a doubt the most botched package yet issued to the pilots of CX. A simple NO is all that's required.

Bograt
25th Apr 2009, 01:24
Oh I agree, but I thought it wold be interesting to see how the botched package was being received.

There have been very few responses since it became so obviously skewed by some parties.

I'm considering closing it too.

Cheers.

The fact that management has obviously 'skewed' the poll is comically evident that they are panicked by the impending demise of their atrocious plan. I sometimes wonder how these people face themselves in the mirror in the morning. To dedicate your career to the pursuit of dishonesty, corruption and moral turpitude is a fine legacy. I guess the means justify the ends eh Nick...? :ok:
