I was checking the on-line ATIS Friday morning and it said 'airfield temporarily closed' or something similair.
Something exciting or just another way of saying it's too muddy ?
I know it usually says 'closed to fixed wing aircraft' when it's boggy (boggier !).

Just wondered if anyone was there at the time and can explain.
Thanks.

From speaking to various people, it would appear a C152 made an approach for rwy 27L then tried to do a go around, but got into trouble and came down heavy on the rwy

Nice one Kippax, thanks. I thought it was more than just the 'surface (I use that term loosely) conditions'.
