Can anybody help me please?

Hi I'm new here. I have a question and hope somebody might be able to help me.

I was born in the USA and came to the UK at the age of 6 months old. Now Due to the lack of infomation given to me by my own family, i need to find out what date it was that i entered the UK from USA. The trouble is i know it was in 1963 i came to the UK but i don.t know what day or month it was. I do know we was liveing in Arlington, Verginia, USA just before i came here to the UK. I have been intouch with the American Embassy but they only have records going back to 1983. So i need to find out what the date was in 1963 and get a passinger list to try and match it all up.

My question is...

Does anybody out there know how i might obtain the infomation i need and from where would i get it?

Any help would given would be much valued and needed.

I would imagine that the INS or customs department should be able to help. It may be helpful if you have your mother's passport number handy.

That's another strange thing about it, as i'm told it had my mothers signture on the passport but the passport was not for my Mother but only for us 4 children and we was all under the age of 5 years old. Somebody must have escorted us here but i have no way of finding out who.
Any ideas from anybody would help. I really am stuck on this one.

Sounds like you came in to the UK as accompanied infants and children as immigrants perhaps - very strange.

If someone other than a parent departed the USA with four young children then there must have been some documents relating to custody - even temprary?
I wonder if your mother signed a document authorizing someone else to take you out of the USA or if there was a court order in Juveniles Court to such an effect.
Perhaps you might want to have a look through Arlington Court records for a few months before you came over to see if there is such a document whch would give you a name to search for.
